(KMOV) -- Storms packing heavy rain, high winds and lots of lightning thundered through the St. Louis region on Sunday morning. Winds topping 60 miles-per-hour were reported in some areas. Damage was limited to downed tree limbs and some flooded roadways.
Some of the hardest hit areas were to the south of St. Louis where Tornado Warnings were briefly issued for Ste. Genevieve and St. Francois counties.

While the rain took the edge off of scorching temperatures, 4-Warn Chief Meteorologist Steve Templeton says that it will be muggy this afternoon with highs in the 80s and low 90s. Steve is watching another front that is expected to move through Sunday evening that could bring more rain. Click here for the full forecast.
