Teen crossing I-70 struck, killed by traffic

(KMOV) – An overnight accident has killed one teen pedestrian and shut down Interstate 70 for several hours.

This happened on Interstate 70 near the Lucas and Hunt exit around midnight Thursday morning.
A witness told News 4 that two teens had just left a Circle-K and tried to run across the Interstate. Author Caine, 18, was hit by as many as four cars and died at the scene. His friend wasn’t hurt.
The teens were running across the highway as a shortcut back to their apartment.
Only one car that hit the teen stopped to talk to police while all of the others drove away. That driver, a 23-year-old from Belleville, IL was not ticketed by police.
Investigators shut down all of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70, but have since reopened them.
