(KMOV)-- A ceremony to honor a MoDOT worker killed by a drunk driver was held at the Town and Country Police Department Wednesday.

Family members and MoDOT employees attended the David's Law Ceremony for Jon Wade Smith who was killed on August 1, 1993.

The legislation, named after David Poenicke, allows families of drunk-driving victims to request memorial signs.
