Two suspects arrested after stabbing in Granite City restaurant parking lot

(KMOV)—Two people have been arrested after stabbing a man in a Granite City parking lot.

Eric Kloepper, 42, of Granite City is charged with felony mob action, aggravated battery and armed violence. Wyndi Cumberland, 37, of Granite City is charged with felony mob action.

Authorities responded to a disturbance around 11:30 p.m. Monday at The Luna Cafe at 201 East Chain of Rocks. They found Charles Rose, 45, unresponsive and lying on the parking lot, suffering from a stab wound to the neck.

Investigators were told that Rose tried to intervene in a verbal dispute between Kloepper and Cumberland. Kloepper stabbed Rose. Kloepper and Cumberland began to kick Rose who was bleeding on the ground.

Kloepper and Rose fled the scene in a cab but were later apprehended by police.

Rose was transported from the scene to a St. Louis hospital. He was rushed into surgery for his injuries. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Both are being held in the Madison County Jail. Kloepper’s bond is set at $150,000. Cumberland’s bond is set at $20,000.
