ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) -- A man shot by a St. Charles police officer in June has died from his injuries.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 28-year-old Joshua Rinsem died Sunday at a hospital. He was shot June 23.
Police say Rinsem was threatening suicide and had shot himself once in the buttocks when officers went to his home about 3 a.m. He allegedly fired shots as police were negotiating with him. An officer returned fire, shooting him once.
An internal investigation is planned.
