Suspect caught in Monday morning downtown bank robbery

Posted: Updated:

(KMOV) – Authorities say they have captured a man suspected of robbing the U.S. Bank downtown at 721 Locust Street early Monday morning.

He is described as a man with a dark complexion, weighing 180 lbs., wearing a red t-shirt, red baseball cap, blue jean shorts and glasses.

Just after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, the robber allegedly entered the bank and displayed a long-bladed knife. Authorities say he then approached the teller counter, pointed the knife at the teller and passed a demand note.

The robber reportedly left after taking an undisclosed amount of cash. Bank security employees were able to catch a suspect not far from the bank.
