Grandparents rejoice after hearing 5-year-old grandson okay

I met Larry and Donna Denman on perhaps the happiest day of their lives.  They got the call Monday morning their grandson Devon, who'd been abducted allegedly by his mother and her boyfriend in front of Devon's father at gunpoint, was found safe in New Mexico and would soon be headed home to Lake of the Ozarks.

Larry and Donna live in Hazelwood.  They were getting their things together to head down to see their son and grandson and other family members.

"This is better than winning the biggest lottery there ever was," Donna told me.

Larry said his feet still haven't touched the ground.  He joked how his wife says he never gets excited about good things.  He told her after this morning, she can never say that again.

As a reporter it is a true joy to meet people under these circumstances.  So often it's when things don't end up this way I get to talk to families.

So glad for Devon and his family.
