(KMOV) -- Half a dozen fire departments responded to a fire at and apartment complex in Centreville, Ill.
Firefighters said flames were shooting out of the front door of one of the apartments when they arrived. Neighbors said the fire may have started in the back of the apartments in the Centreville Court apartment complex.
Firefighters cut a hole in the roof of the apartment building to let the heat out. Two firefighters were treated for heat.
Authorities said two families, six adults and four children, are being helped by the Red Cross. Neighbors had said the two apartments in the 300 block of Langston that caught fire were vacant. No one was hurt in the fire.
