Conversion van, car collide in St. Francois County; nine injured

(KMOV) – A two-car accident involving a car and a conversion van left eight people injured in St. Francois County, Missouri.

This happened on Saturday just before 8 a.m. on Highway 8 at Maple Street.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 74-year-old man driving a Ford Focus tried to make a left turn onto Highway 8 from Maple Street when he pulled into the path of a Ford conversion van carrying eight people.

That driver was seriously injured, and was air lifted to St. John’s Medical Center in Creve Coeur.  He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The 61-year-old man driving the second vehicle was not injured.

The seven passengers in the conversion van all have minor injuries, and were taken to the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center.
