Police said they received a call of shots fired at a mini-mart at the corner of Camp Jackson Road and Delano Dr. at about 7:45 p.m. Officers found a 39-year-old clerk shot and taken to an area hospital. Coworkers said he was shot seven times, underwent surgery and is doing better after being in critical condition.
Police said no one else was hurt and that they don't know what led to the shooting. They do not know yet if the surveillance equipment was working at the time of the shooting.
Police say four men, all with black masks, entered the mini mart and opened fire, hitting the clerk multiple times. Two of the men had long guns and two had hand guns, The four then fled in what's believed to be a white late 90's Plymouth Voyager mini van with black molding, tinted windows, a luggage rack and possible Missouri license plates. Authorities say they escaped with cash and property from the store.
