(KMOV) -- Attorney General Chris Koster is looking to overturn the ruling declaring a National Day of Prayer unconstitutional.
Koster joins 28 other state attorneys seeking to reverse the April decision. Koster said he and other attorneys general want
that judgement reversed and filed a brief in Chicago asking for the reversal.
The brief summarizes a series of cases looking at the role of religion in American life and President Washington's declaring a day of prayer, and the similar proclamations almost every president since has made.
Koster said the National Day of Prayer doesn't require prayer, and that he believes the ruling could put into jeopardy similar days of prayer issued by states.
