(KMOV) –St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney charged three men on Tuesday after they allegedly robbed residents at gunpoint within hours of each other Sunday night.
Toney G. Jackson, 19, was charged with four counts of first degree robbery and four counts of armed criminal action. Trevon Jackson, 18, was issued charges of first degree robbery and armed criminal action. Tayvion Barnett, 21, was charged with one county robbery and one count armed criminal action.
Police were able to take the suspects into custody during a traffic stop at Imperial and Chambers. Three victims gave police the same vehicle description which assisted officers in locating the suspects.
Weapons were seized and property from all three robberies were recovered after authorities arrested the suspects and executed a search of their car.
Police said the suspects drove around looking for people walking or jogging in Spanish Lake and Bellefontaine Neighbors. According to police, the suspects would then jump out of their vehicle, point a gun at each victim and rob them of money, clothing and electronics.
In all incidents they fled in their vehicle, repeating the same actions just a few miles down the road.
These three suspects reportedly have a long criminal history between them, with one suspect having a warrant out for his arrest. Police said it is not the first time they’ve been arrested for robbery.
St. Louis County Police told News 4’s Lindsay Bramson they are hoping to keep them in jail with a high bond but, it’s ultimately up to the judges.
As a precaution, police want residents in the areas to walk in pairs and avoid walking or running after the sun goes down.
Bond for the three suspects was set at $75,000.00 each.
