CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) -- A St. Louis County jury recommended a 25-year prison sentence for a man who beat a teenager and left him to die in a field.

The jury convicted 21-year-old Keith Meiners of Overland on Wednesday of second-degree murder in the November 2010 death of 19-year-old James Robert Willman of Woodson Terrace. The jury also recommended a 25-year prison sentence.

Prosecutors say Meiners lured Willman away from a party brutally beat him. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch Meiners eventually stepped on Willman’s throat until he stopped breathing, while singing the rock song, “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked.”

Willman’s decomposed body was found 3 ½ months later in a conservation area. His hands were tied behind his back with duct tape.

Meiners will be sentenced June 10.
