(Football StL) -- Reports suggest WR Tavon Austin, a possible Rams top priority, is being discussed as high as number seven in this draft. Granted, a lot of what you hear at this point in time has to be taken as face value because teams are playing so much poker. Regardless of this, it appears if the Rams are serious about landing the speedy 5’8” receiver out of West Virginia they may have to move up from 16.
The question now becomes how high are they willing to go? I highly doubt you’d see them package both first round picks (16 and 22) to move up and I doubt just as much that they’d surrender their second round pick either. Should they be willing to part with their 3rd round pick, how high would that get the Rams? Could they get up to 12 or 13? Would Austin even be there still at that point? It’s all a matter of how badly the Rams want him and what he’s worth to them.
If it doesn’t work out, they could target running back Eddie Lacy or OT D.J. Fluker (both from Alabama) or possibly safety Kenny Vaccaro from Texas.
