Off-duty police officer shot while driving in St. Louis

(KMOV.com) -- An off-duty police officer was shot in the leg while driving in St. Louis early Sunday morning.

The shooting happened in the 1000 block of N. Taylor around 3:50 a.m.

Authorities said the 25-year-old victim was riding in a vehicle with another off-duty officer and a third man when three unknown suspects opened fire. The victim was shot in the calf and later transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a 1995-1997 BMW with an obscured rear license plate.

No one else was injured in the incident. Police continue to investigate the shooting.
