(KMOV) – St. Louis native Eric Greitens, CEO and founder of The Mission Continues, is among TIME magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Greitens, a former Navy SEAL wounded in war, founded the non-profit organization to help support wounded and disabled veterans and their families after they return home from duty.
A Rhodes scholar and humanitarian volunteer, Greitens donated his combat pay to start the organization after returning home from Iraq in 2007.
“Eric figured out how to provide transition services that fill the gaps between the Pentagon, the VA and local communities,” wrote Mike Mullen, a retired Navy admiral who served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Greitens graduated from Parkway North in 1992.
