Creve Coeur residents question value of $25,000 taxpayer-funded sign

CREVE COEUR, Mo. (KMOV)-- A sign which will soon be going up in Creve Coeur directing people to the city's golf course and ice arena has some residents asking if its worth it.

Right now, the only sign at Craig and Olive on the way to the complex is for the office park, and its coming down. The city council voted unanimously to spend $25,000 for a sign similar to the one at city hall, but announcing the golf course and ice rink.

The city hopes to draw more patrons, but critics say the complex is already losing money.

The city of Creve Coeur subsidizes about ten percent of that $1 million budget.
