A Cool Spell Ahead

Our cool weather Monday won't last long...but the next cool spell looks to hang around for several days including the weekend. Highs in the 50s and even low 50s are possible  And if you compare that to this past weekend's highs in the upper 80s and 90, we're going to have some drastically different weather this upcoming weekend.

After a warm-up Tuesday through Thursday we will see a cold front and closed-off low pressure bring us a shot of chilly air.  In fact, Thursday late day or evening we may see some severe storms as the front moves through, though some models have the timing on Friday morning.  Either way, the end result is cooler highs in the 50s.

The GFS forecast model even hints at 40s for highs on Friday and maybe Saturday, click here for a few computer model's temperature trend forecast.

Right now I'm doubtful on that strength of the cold air, but have highs in the 50s Friday and low 50s Saturday.

But this cool air will last through the weekend and slowly warm up on Monday back into the 60s.
