ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Police are looking for a man who they say kidnapped a woman and her child and led police on a high speed chase on Tuesday.

That chase neared speeds of 100 miles per hour and started in Kinloch at Monroe and Oakridge, moved along Interstate 70 and ended within St. Louis city limits.

Officials say the chase began with a simple complaint about a violation of a restraining order. But when that suspect saw police, he reportedly sped off with another woman and a teenage boy in a white SUV screaming for help.

That SUV eventually ended up slamming into a vehicle along Goodfellow Blvd. at Lalite Ave. with the driver running off.

The two in the SUV appeared to be shaken up from the frightening ride that ended in St. Louis, however, they did not appear hurt.

Kinloch police say because the suspect, a man in his 30s, fled when he was being approached by police about violating a restraining order filed by another woman, they intend to file kidnapping charges against the suspect.

The man is still on the loose, but police say they know who he is and are confident they will find him.
