Sheen kicks off 'Torpedo of Truth' tour in Detroit

DETROIT (AP) -- Charlie Sheen's "Torpedo of Truth" tour has launched in Detroit.

The recently-fired "Two and a Half Men" star took the stage to a standing ovation Saturday night from a capacity crowd at the Fox Theatre.

Sheen was bailing out a comedian who was failing to win the crowd over, and quickly went backstage again to put on his show attire.

Some audience members said before the show they were there because of the recent volatility Sheen has shown in interviews and online postings. Sheen was fired from "Two and a Half Men" in March over his alleged drug use and increasingly erratic behavior.

Sheen's live show stops in Chicago on Sunday and runs through May 3.
