(KMOV)-- A man is accused of assaulting people at a St. Peters Church after synthetic marijuana caused him to hallucinate.

Dustin Ostmann, 26, is charged with three counts of assault.

Authorities said Ostmann admitted to buying and smoking Supercense, when he started having hallucinations.

He said he went into First Baptist Church because he was scared and needed help.

Witnesses said Ostmann ran through the hallways screaming and allegedly pushed a 14-year-old victim. That victim was not injured.

A 71-year-old employee of the church was assaulted after trying to block Ostmann from entering another room. Ostmann allegedly threw a table at the victim and as a result, he sustained an injury to his shoulder area and was transported to Progress West Hospital.

Ostmann allegedly assaulted a third subject, a 61-year-old church employee, who was able to restrain him until our department was notified and arrived on scene.  Ostmann was arrested without any further incident.

Ostmann currently held at st. Charles county jail on a $20,000 bond.
