Power outage in downtown St. Louis restored

(KMOV)—After crews worked through the night to fix the damaged cable, power was restored to the downtown St. Louis businesses by 8:45 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The cause of the outage was a failed underground cable, which led to more than 300 customers without power.

Power was out at the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield building, creating a late start for employees who reported for work at noon. This building is across from Union Station in the 1800 block of Chestnut.
