ST. PETERS, Mo. (AP) -- The building that houses a St. Peters linen service company appears to be a total loss after a morning fire.
The blaze broke out around 5 a.m. Tuesday at the KMD Linen in St. Peters. One employee was inside but was able to get out unhurt after calling 911.
The fire quickly turned into a 3-alarm blaze. Nearly 50 firefighters were called in to help. The cause of the fire was not immediately known but is not considered suspicious.
KMB has been around since 1943 and their current building is only 12 years old.
Other linen services across Missouri will allow KMD to use their facilities so that some of the 30 employees can remain workig until the company rebuilds.
