Family members turn victim in attempt to stop domestic assault

(KMOV)—Family members become victims when they attempt to stop a husband from beating his wife, husband is charged.

 It happened on August 7, around 10a.m., when police were called to Anderson’s home in Cottage Hills, Illinois, from an anonymous report.
 
According to authorities, David C. Anderson, 47, allegedly began the fight by shoving his wife to ground, biting her upper thigh and spitting in her face.
 
Dawn Anderson, David‘s wife, broke free of Anderson and ran to a neighbor’s home after being shoved to the ground. Anderson followed her over and continued the fight.
 
Dawn’s sister, Wendy Agin came to the house to intervene. She was then pushed by Anderson, who allegedly began choking her with his hands.  Agin’s niece stepped in to push Anderson away from Agin.
 
Anderson then left the scene but later showed up at the Madison County Sheriff’s office to file a report.
 
He was arrested on site and charged with one felony count of aggravated domestic battery and one count misdemeanor domestic battery.
 
Bail has been set for Anderson at $50,000.
