(KMOV) -- When you think of photos from the 1940's, you probably think of black and white pictures.

The Library of Congress has posted 1,600 rare, full color photos on its website. All of the photos were taken between 1939 and 1944.

They were compiled by the Farm Security Administration which documented, through photographs, the challenges of rural life during the Great Depression.
