(KMOV) -- News of the arrest of a suspect in a carjacking and killing from last March made friends of the victim glad, but also brought back painful memories.
Lason Elliot faces murder charges in the death of 23-year-old Martin Lampe who was shot and killed in a carjacking outside a convenience store in Sauget March 24. He was caught earlier this week by police.
Lampe worked at Michael's Bar and Grill, where co-workers said he was less an employee, and more of a family member to the owners. His co-workers said they were glad Elliot was caught, but know there is a lot more to come.
Lampe's co-workers held a fundraiser in late March to raise money to cover Lampe's funeral expenses and fund a reward to catch his suspected killer. Now that money will be used to establish something in Lampe's memory.
