(KMOV) -- A position left open in the mayor's office for ten months has been filled.
The St. Louis mayor's office said in a release that Stephen Gregali will be the special assistant to the mayor Aug. 9 and will resign as the 14th ward alderman, a post he held for 15 years.
Gregali replaces Tim Embree, who left his position for a job in Washington, D.C. last October. The position was left open to save money.
A special election will be held to fill the position of 14th ward alderman in November.
