(KMOV) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor Pace Construction Company will close the two right lanes of westbound Interstate 44 from Grand to Shrewsbury Friday, August 6, weather permitting.
Crews will close the lanes for pavement repairs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, and will be complete by 8 a.m. Saturday, August 7.
MoDOT restriped I-44 between I-270 and I-55 in 2007 to provide an extra lane in each direction to serve as a detour for the I-64 project.
With the completion of I-64, the lanes on I-44 must be returned back to the standard 12-foot lanes with shoulders providing four lanes in each direction.
This work is part of the Interstate 44 project that involves re-striping and resurfacing the interstate.
Motorists may experience delays during this work and are encouraged to use alternate routes. For more information call 1-888-ASK-MODOT or visit their website at www.modot.org
