(KMOV)-- A local soldier who lost his leg in Afghanistan is back home.

Sgt. Nathan Shumaker arrived at signature flight support on a citation jet with his wife missy.

Everyone was there, anticipating their arrival, even the family dog.

Sgt. Shumaker was an artilleryman in Northern Afghanistan when he was hit. He had volunteered for this second tour. He remembers waking up in Walter Reed, one leg badly injured, the other amputated.
