St. Louis police searching for man who attempted ATM robbery

(KMOV) – St. Louis police are asking the public for help in finding a person believed to be responsible for attempting to rob a woman at an ATM machine last month.

According to police, a man approached a woman’s car on July 10 while she was at a Southern Commercial Bank ATM at 6:50 a.m. That bank is at 5515 South Grand. The man tapped on her window, showed and gun and demanded money. The woman sped off and the suspect began shooting at her, causing damage to the car and minor injuries.  
 
The suspect is described as a skinny, black man with dark complexion in his 20’s. He is around six feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
 
Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS.   Callers with information that leads to an arrest are eligible for a $1000 reward.
