(KMOV) -- Neighbors of Mary Colletta say Colletta believed she was being stalked by her estranged husband since she got a restraining order against him.

Christopher Colletta is now charged with her murder.  Mary Colletta was found in a parking garage at St. John's Medical Center in Creve Coeur on Tuesday (read full story here).

Neighbors say they would sometimes hear the couple arguing loudly, and at least a few times, sheriff's deputies were called to their Hillsboro home.

Glen Brown lives just across the street from the Colletta home in Hillsboro. He and other neighbors say Mary Colletta spent the last few weeks of her life trying to escape her marriage to Christopher Colletta. They say she moved out of the Hillsboro home after the restraining order was granted in July.

Brown says he recalls at least two times in when deputies were called to the Colletta house over what appeared to be domestic quarrels.

He also says the couple was only married for about a year, living with Mary’s two young children.

In the past few weeks, Brown says Mary Colletta confided that Christopher Colletta was calling her and sending text messages, and may have also been stalking her.
