Former Uplands Park officer pleads guilty to federal charges

(KMOV)--A former Uplands Park police officer faces at least 18 years in prison after he accepted a plea deal for charges related to sexually assaulting and stealing money from escorts.

Leon Pullen, 32, has been in jail since his arrest last September. Federal investigators learned the officer contacted female escorts on-line and set up meetings. Officer Pullen would show up in uniform or in police t-shirts and identify himself as an officer.

Court documents show Pullen assaulted one woman at the police station. Another was assaulted in a hotel room in St. Louis.

Pullen plead guilty to nine federal charges. He faced several more if he did not accept a plea deal.

Pullen's attorney, Grant Shostak, says Pullen could have faced life in prison. If the court accepts the plea deal during sentencing on October 15th, Pullen may face 18-25 years in prison.

"Mr. Pullen entered his guilty plea pursuant to a plea agreement and has accepted responsibility by entering that plea," said Shostak.
