Illinois woman ordered imprisoned in toddler's death

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- A southwestern Illinois woman has been sentenced to five years in prison for her role in the 2007 death of her toddler.
Twenty-six-year-old Linsey Eyer of Alton was sentenced Tuesday in Madison County, nearly three months after she pleaded guilty to a charge of endangering a child's life.
Authorities say Eyer neglected to seek help for her beaten, dying child -- 2-year-old Maxwell Eyer.
Authorities say co-defendant Jeanine Lansdon went out to look for drugs in December 2007 when she left Maxwell in the care of his father, Johnny Garcia, who'd already beaten the boy.
Garcia and Lansdon pleaded guilty and are serving prison terms.
Eyer will have to serve half of her sentence and gets credited for 225 days she served in jail before making bail.
