(KMOV) – Police tracked down and arrested a man after he allegedly robbed a bank in Hamel, Illinois on Monday.
Police say the suspect entered the bank, displayed a gun and demanded money through a note. The suspect then allegedly exited the bank with an undetermined amount of money and reportedly drove away in a red pickup truck on westbound Illinois Route 140.
Authorities say a deputy stopped a vehicle matching the description on Illinois Route 140 near Edwardsville almost 10 minutes later. Police arrested the man and transported him to Madison County Jail.
No one was hurt during the robbery.
The suspect is held pending formal charges.
