FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – All MetroLink train service has been restored in the Metro East.
A vehicle crashed into a pole close to Route 111 knocking the pole on top of an overhead power line used for the MetroLink trains early Monday morning. The crash caused MetroLink trains to be out of service for the morning commute.
A MetroLink official said the trains could not run through the Emerson Park, Jackie Jorner Kersey, Washington Park and Fairview Heights stops. Crews shuttled passengers via bus between the stops during the delay.
Service was restored around 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. MetroLink officials say all riders should expect a 10 minute delay as service resumes.
