ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- One person was killed and two others were injured during an apparent drug deal that went bad in north St. Louis Friday afternoon.

Police said that happened near the area of Goodfellow and Leonora around 2:00 Friday afternoon in north city at a convenience store.

"I ducked behind the counter to make sure there was going to be no shots [fired] at me," said Kareem Warsame who was inside the store when the shooting began.

The initial shooting happened near the 6000 block of W. Florissant. Three people inside a car were shot before the driver sped away. Police have identified the victim who died as 23-year-old Kourtney Warren. The other two victims were transported to a local hospital and have been listed in serious/stable condition. Their names have not been released.

Aside from the Goodfellow location, police are responding to multiple locations on reports of shooting victims being located, including the 5200 block of Alcott Avenue, 5900 block of Lalite Avenue, as well as 5000 block of Davison Avenue.

"We can't rely totally on science. We can't rely totally on a video camera being there to provide good, clean footage," said St. Louis Metropolitan Police Captain Mike Sack. "We really need community and citizens that might have seen what occurred cooperate with us and tell us what occurred."
