ALTON, Il. (KMOV.com) – Police say they have recovered 500 grams of marijuana and an AK-47 involving the death of an Alton man who was found dead in September.
Police say they found a phone in 39-year-old Melvin Hayes’ pocket that showed up in a vacant home along Market Street where he died. The home was set up for a drug deal.
Two people have been arrested in connection to Hayes’ death.
