ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) -- At least 63 cities within St. Louis County will participate in a warrant forgiveness program starting Dec. 1.
The program allows those with minor traffic violations to go to court and pay a $100 bond to clear warrants for an arrest and set a new court date.
While the amnesty program has been around for years, many courts have just recently decided to participate due to the unrest in Ferguson.
"Better Family Life" says warrant forgiveness is just a start and there is more the courts can do to level the playing field for poor defendants accused of minor violations.
The amnesty program will run until Dec. 31.
