(KMOV.com) – The Ferguson-Florissant School District sent a letter to parents informing them that the schedule may change when the grand jury investigating the shooting death of Michael Brown decision is announced.
The district said students may be dismissed early when the grand jury announces its decision. The majority of schools in the district are elementary schools.
“I’ll be the first one up here to get my child and go home,” said parent Leslie Logan.
Another parent said he will try to keep things as normal as possible.
“We’re probably just going to continue our lives normally. I don’t want to make her worried. She may not understand everything that’s going on,” said parent James Barman.
Several churches are working with districts to provide free meals and tutors for students if schools close.
