FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Five people were arrested while protesting outside of the Ferguson Police Station Wednesday night.

Police say approximately 15 protesters gathered across the street from the police station around 6:00 p.m. A little over an hour later, several protesters began entering the roadway and obstructing the traffic on South Florissant, according to police.
Authorities say officers with St. Louis County approached the demonstrators and advised them they would be arrested if they did not remove themselves from the street. Shortly after officers approached those in the street, several additional demonstrators arrived on the scene and laid down in the middle of the roadway, shutting down the street.

Of the five arrested individuals, three were from Missouri, one was from Illinois and another was from Wisconsin. Four of the five individuals were arrested for refusal to disperse and unlawful assembly while one was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant.

Authorities say by midnight the crowd had dwindled.
