FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Even though many businesses around it are boarding up, the Ferguson Burger Bar is refusing to do so.
Charles Davis, who owns the Ferguson Burger Bar, said his business was not damaged during looting and rioting in August, even though nearby establishments were hard hit. The restaurant opened the day before Michael Brown was shot.
“We were the shelter for reporters,” Davis said. “The shelter for innocent bystanders, the shelter for anyone who wanted to come in and get away from what was going on.”
Davis told News 4 he is refusing to board up.
“I have faith in God. God gave me this business, he gave it to me and my wife, so it is up to him, and if something happens, it happens,” Davis said.
Davis said he does not fear Ferguson residents, who he says have thanked him for not boarding up.
