(KMOV.com) – Authorities in Collinsville said they’ve charged a 33-year-old man for confronting and assaulting a 6-year old boy on a school bus.
Malvin Crain is facing battery and aggravated assault charges, both misdemeanors. The boy’s mother and grandmother said it happened Monday morning after the boy got on the school bus at Johnson Hill Rd. and Skyline View Dr.
The father of another student allegedly threatened the boy because of alleged bullying of his daughter, police said.
"From what I was told he grabbed him on the collar and put a belt in his face, and (said) if you mess with my daughter I'm going to whoop you,” Sandra Calhoun, the victim’s grandmother told News 4.
The boy was not hurt.
Crain turned himself in and was freed after posting bond, police said. First Student said it is cooperating with police.
