ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- One person was killed and several others injured in a 2-vehicle accident caused by slick conditions in Jefferson County Sunday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old David Butcher, of Eureka, was heading northbound on Route W near Lakeview Drive when it swerved due to slush on the road.  The car rotated and entered the southbound lanes of the highway, where it was struck by an oncoming car.

The passenger of the vehicle, 32-year-old Kimberly Butcher, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A 2-year-old boy suffered minor injures.

The driver and occupant of the second vehicle also suffered injuries that were described as "serious and moderate."
