GLEN CARBON, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Officials say the boil order for Glen Carbon has been lifted as of 12:30 p.m.
The village-wide boil order was issued for Glen Carbon, Illinois Friday morning.
Officials in Glen Carbon said there was a depressurization in the water system around 8:00 a.m. The depressurization did not cause a water main break but the boil order was in place as a safety precaution.
Under the ‘boil water’ notice, all affected customers were advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled for five minutes prior to use. Ice cubes made after the incident occurred should be discarded during the boil order period.
