(KMOV.com) – Police say a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old were taken into custody Thursday in connection with the shooting death of a teen in north St. Louis on November 12.
Officials say the 15-year-old boy was taken into custody by juvenile authorities. A case was presented against the 17-year-old male. Officials say warrants were taken under advisement pending investigation.
Zachary Al-Hamid, 16, was found lying in the street in the 4000 block of Cora around 5:00 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the chest. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, Al-Hamid was with a group of people he knew at the time of the incident. Al-Hamid’s vehicle and cell-phone were missing following the shooting, they have since been recovered.
A fund has been set up to help Al-Hamid's family at any Bank of America branch under the name Zak Al-Hamid.
