Sexual assault victims in Illinois billed for related medical expenses

(KMOV.com) – Rape victims in the state of Illinois are receiving bills for any medical treatment they undergo in regard to the assault. However, the state has a voucher system that pays for initial medical expenses not covered by the victim’s insurance. The voucher includes 90-days of follow-up treatment.
