FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The I Love Ferguson Committee donated $5000 to the Reinvest North County Fund Thursday.
The committee made its third donation to a fund that some businesses have said has been critical in keeping them afloat. The money was collected through merchandise sales and fundraisers.
“It’s keeping us afloat,” said Tony Henley, the owner of Prime Time Beauty and Barber.
The Ferguson Burger Bar and More has received $2500 to compensate for the losses caused by the unrest.
“Reimbursed up for the spoilage of meat,” said owner Charles Davis.
More than 20 businesses have received money from the fund so far. More than $55,000 has been raised in total.
“These are mom and pop stores,” said Rebecca Zoll with North County Incorporated.
