ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Two men are recovering after an altercation inside a south St. Louis home late Wednesday night.

The victims told police they were in the basement of a home in the 3700 block of Oregon when three men knocked on the door. When the men entered the home they began to strike the 31-year-old victim with a gun.

The other victim grabbed a wrench and ran to help the 31-year-old.

As the 30-year-old hit the suspect with a wrench, the gun the suspect was holding went off and struck the victim in the face.

Police say the suspects then entered a vehicle and fled the scene.

Both victims were taken to the hospital and are listed in stable condition.

Authorities say all three suspects are black males. They say one of the suspects is in his mid 20’s and was wearing a blue coat at the time of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
