(KMOV.com) – Ellisville Mayor Adam Paul said he has sent an email to the Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen warning them not to impeach Mayor Mark Furrer.
Furrer is facing possible impeachment because he is accused of attacking a cyclist over the summer. Paul, who was impeached last by Ellisville in 2013, is warning officials in Sunset Hills to not go down the same route.
“You’re gonna have bad P.R., you’re gonna have $150,000 of legal bills, and housing expenses, the court battle, and you're gonna divide your city,” Paul said.
Paul was impeached and removed from office, but went to court and got his job back. The entire process cost taxpayers in Ellisville $150,000.
“It’s not the Board of Aldermen’s own money that is being spent, it’s the taxpayers’ dollars and it is easy to press the green money for impeachment. You’re not using your own personal account for this.”
