ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Two teenagers were shot and killed in separate shootings in north St. Louis Wednesday evening.

Eighteen-year-old Steven Taylor, of Florissant, Missouri, was pronounced dead after being shot in the shoulder just before 4:00 p.m. in the 8700 block of Annetta Avenue, police say.

Four teenagers, who were with Taylor when the incident occurred, told police Taylor was driving a vehicle they were all in when they came upon the suspects. The teenagers said Taylor exited the vehicle to talk to the suspects, whom Taylor stated he knew, when he was shot.

Taylor attended Hazelwood Central High School in St. Louis.

A little over an hour later, Zachary Al-Hamid, 16, was found lying in the street in the 4000 block of Cora with a gunshot wound to the chest. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, Al-Hamid was with a group of people he knew at the time of the incident. Al-Hamid’s vehicle and cell-phone were missing following the shooting, they have since been recovered.

A fund has been set up to help Al-Hamid's family at any Bank of America branch under the name Zak Al-Hamid.

Both investigations are ongoing.
